Cross Stitch Ribbing

Sample knit with US Size 9 needles, SnP Sport Weight Yarn


Multiple of 4 + 2

Row 1 (RS): p2 *skip next st and knit into second st, then knit first st and drop both from left needle, p2

Row 2: k2 *p2, k2


Repeat these two rows for the pattern.  Happy Knitting!

Roman Stripe

Even number of stitches

Row 1: k1 *yo, k1; repeat from * to last st, k1
Row 2: k1, p to end, k1
Row 3: k1 *k2tog; repeat from * to last st, k1
Rows 4-5: k1 *yo, k2tog; repeat from * to last st, k1
Rows 6-7: k

Working all 7 rows of the pattern makes a reversible fabric.  If you want a fabric with a right and wrong side, omit Row 7 and begin the pattern again after the sixth row.

Asynchronous Lace


Multiple of 5 + 1

If you are knitting this stitch pattern from the start, knit or purl a row first so you can work the k1b in Row 1 of the stitch pattern.


Row 1: (RS) *p1, k1b, p1, yo, ssk*, end k1
Rows 2 and 4: purl
Row 3: *p1, k1b, p1, k2tog, yo*, end k1
