Honeycomb Seed Stitch

Sample knit with DK weight yarn, US 7 needles

Multiple of 2 + 1

Row 1 (ws): k2 *p1, k1; end k1
Row 2: k1 *knit stitch in row below next stitch on left needle, k1
Row 3: k1 *p1, k1
Row 4: k2 *knit stitch in row below next stitch on left needle, k1; end k1

Repeat these four rows for the pattern.

Cross Stitch Left

Sample knit with DK weight yarn, US 7 needles

Multiple of 4 + 2

Row 1 (ws): k1 *p, wrapping ea st twice; end k1

Row 2: k1 *wyib, sl 4 sts, dropping extra wraps; with left needle, pick up 1st and 2nd sts and pass them over 3rd and 4th sts and place them on left needle, then slip 3rd and 4th sts back to left needle keeping them in front of 1st and 2nd sts, knit same four sts; end k1

Row 3: k1, p2 *p, wrapping ea st twice; end p2, k1

Row 4: k3 *wyib, sl 4 sts, dropping extra wraps; with left needle, pick up 1st and 2nd sts and pass them over 3rd and 4th sts and place them on left needle, then slip 3rd and 4th sts back to left needle keeping them in front of 1st and 2nd sts, knit same four sts; end k3

Repeat these four rows for the pattern.

Multiple of 4 + 2

Row 1 (ws): k1 *p, wrapping ea st twice; end k1

Row 2: k1 *wyib, sl next 4 sts, dropping extra wraps, then slip 4 sts back to left needle.  With right needle, pull 3rd and 4th sts over 1st and 2nd sts so they are in front of 1st and 2nd sts on left needle, knit same four sts; end k1

Row 3: k1, p2 *p, wrapping ea st twice; end p2, k1

Row 4: k3 *wyib, sl next 4 sts, dropping extra wraps, then slip 4 sts back to left needle.  With right needle, pull 3rd and 4th sts over 1st and 2nd sts so they are in front of 1st and 2nd sts on left needle, knit same four sts; end k3

Repeat these four rows for the pattern.

Mock Moss Stitch

Sample knit with worsted weight yarn, US 7 needles

The edges aren't very neat and curl a bit, so you may want to consider adding a border depending on how you plan to use the stitch.

Multiple of 2

(RS) Row 1: k1 *p1, sl 1 wyib; end k1
Row 2: p2 *sl 1 wyif, p1
Row 3: k1 *sl 1 wyib, p1; end k1
Row 4: p1 *sl 1 wyif, p1; end p1

Repeat these four rows for the pattern.

Faux Crochet Stitch

Sample knit with DK weight yarn, US 7 needles

Multiple of 2

Row 1 (rs) and Row 2: sl 1 *p1, k1; end p1
Row 3: sl 1, p1 *yo, skpo
Row 4: sl 1  *bind off until there is one stitch left on the left needle, p last st  (there will be 3 sts total)
Row 5: sl 1, p1 *working into each yarn over space, insert right needle from front to back, wrap yarn twice and pull through, then insert right needle into same space again, this time from back to front, wrap yarn twice and pull through; end k1
Row 6: k2tog, dropping extra loop *p1-drop extra loop, k1-drop extra loop; end p1  (the last two sts will not have an extra loop)

Repeat these six rows for the pattern.
