Ridge Stitch

This particular stitch pattern reminds me of speed bumps.  Easy to do and easy to remember, also.

Work on any number of stitches

  • Beginning with a purl row after casting on, work three rows of stockinette stitch.
  • Row 4:  Knit into the front and back of each stitch - this will double the number of stitches you started with
  • Row 5: Knit two together across row - this will decrease the extra stitches you added on the previous row, and you will end up with the same number of stitches you started with
  • Row 6: Knit all stitches

Repeat these 6 rows for pattern.  If you learn better by seeing, the video below demonstrates this stitch.  Enjoy!
