Sample knit with bulky yarn, US 9 needles

Multiple of 8 + 3

mb = make bobble  -  p1, k1, p1, k1 into next stitch and drop from left needle.  Pass 2nd, 3rd and 4th sts on right needle over first

Row 1 (rs): k3 *p2, mb, p2, k3

Rows 2 and 4: p3 *k5, p3

Row 3: k3 *p5, k3

Repeat these four rows for the pattern.

The sides of this do curl a bit, so you may want to consider adding a border depending on how you plan to use the stitch.

Row 1 (RS): p3 *(kf,kb,kf) into next stitch, p3

Row 2: k3 *p3, k3

Row 3: p3 *k3tog, p3

Row 4: knit all sts
