Valentine Lace

Sample knit with my hand dyed Merino Worsted on US Size 8 needles

Cast on a multiple of 12 + 1

Row 1: k1 *yo, k2tog, k3, yo, k1, yo, k3, sl 1, k1, psso, yo, k1
Row 2 and all even numbered rows: purl
Row 3: k2 *yo, k4tog, yo, k3; end last repeat with k2
Row 5: k1 *k1, k2tog, yo, k5, yo, sl 1, k1, psso, k2
Row 7: k1 *k2tog, yo, k7, yo, sl 1 k1, psso, k1
Row 9: k2tog, yo, k9, yo *sl 1, k2tog, psso, yo, k9, yo; end last repeat with sl 1, k1, psso
Row 10: purl

Repeat these 10 rows for the pattern.   Edges are sloppy and will tend to curl since this stitch is stockinette based; depending on how you plan to use the stitch, you may want to add a garter or seed stitch border to neaten things up.

Happy Knitting!

This is beautiful! Between this and your YouTube video this beginner just may be able to look like she knows what she's doing! Thank you for sharing!

I just discovered this pattern today and I think it's absolutely lovely, thank you so much for this! I'm going to use it to make a Haapsalu shawl :-)
